Ghost Story (1974) - Custom Soundtrack

Stephen Weeks' masterpiece of British supernatural cinema GHOST STORY disturbs you from every angle imaginable. A constant assault of dreamlike cinematography, a classic haunted house story, sublime casting, and stunning locations make this an unmissable gem. Marrying all these elements is a twisted, eerie musical score from sonic wizard Ron Geesin (famous for his large body of experimental solo work, and an acclaimed collaboration with Pink Floyd on their 1970 album Atom Heart Mother).
For reasons unknown to me, his excellent soundtrack for Ghost Story was never released, so I've attempted to mix together all his music from the film. Once again, some dialogue has inevitably found it's way onto the recording, and as usual, I feel these vocal spectres add to the mood.
So turn out the light, lock the doors, and stoke the fire;
this one will haunt the hell out of you !

  2. I must have clicked on the wrong link because when I listened to it turned out to be the "Wombling Free" soundtrack! I wouldn't have minded so much but I have morbid fear of Wombles after being molested by a man in Womble costume at a Butlins Holiday camp in 1981.

  3. It must have taken great courage to share that story with us, {{{{o\/o}}}}.
    I can't think how the audio mix-up can have happened, but I've arranged for a special courier to hand-deliver a CD of the Ghost Story soundtrack to your house.
    So you don't miss the parcel, I've asked for him to wear a Womble outfit, and also requested that if you don't answer the door he should break it down after posting a surprise through the letterbox..

  6. Thanks for this. I've never been able to shake the final scene from my brain. I remember flicking channels and assumed I was watching a repeat of Brideshead, then it went all a bit strange...

  10. Excellent work! One of those films that sticks in the mind like a half-remembered dream, you've done a superb job of distilling the soundtrack and effects into a hypnotic half hour. Ghost Story is an unsung minor classic, with no other film quite like it.
